Yala National Park

Yala National Park is located on the southeast of Sri Lanka. It is THE place to see big cats, elephants, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, and other animals …. The park has the highest concentration of leopards in the world.



Sigiriya UNESCO World Heritage Site

Sigiriya (also known as Lion’s Rock) is a rock fortress and palace situated in the Matale district. You can climb up to the ancient ruins, which are surrounded by gardens, ponds, and decorated with magnificent frescoes. The top of the mountain offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area. The Sigiriya Rock is a must-see landmark.



Nuwara Eliya

Sporting a golf course, gentlemen’s club and nice English houses with pretty gardens, Hill station Nuwara Eliya fully retains its colonial ambiance, and is also known as ‘Little England’. It is one of the most beautiful locations in Sri Lanka for a scenic rail ride. Taking you along and through endless green tea fields, waterfalls and craggy hills, the train travels from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya is one of many tea plantation areas in Sri Lanka, but it is viewed as the number one region for tea production in the country.



Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

The orphanage was founded in 1975 to feed and nurse wild orphaned elephants found abandoned in the forests of Sri Lanka. It is located at 13 km from the town of Kegalle (90 km from Colombo). Visitors are allowed to interact a little with the elephants during their regulated bathing and feeding times. Seeing the elephants bathing in the nearby wide river is always a sight to behold. They have to bathe twice a day, a regime that is essential for their hygiene, comfort and happiness. Bathing times are from 10 to 12 a.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Pinnawala, it goes without saying, is a very popular tourist destination.



Polonnaruwa

A city popular for its well-preserved temples and archaeological treasures, Polonnaruwa boasts hundreds of ancient structures like tombs and temples, ruins, statues, stupas and other archaeological sites. It provides remarkable glimpses into Sri Lankan history and culture.



Dambulla Cave Temple

It is hard not to be overawed by the beautiful murals and statues in this beautifully preserved cave with over 150 statues of Buddha. Experience the peace and silence in this stunning cave temple that bears testimony to the extraordinary cultural artifacts of ancient Sri Lanka. This large town houses the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex with over 150 statues of Buddha. It contains a huge collection of Sri Lankan Buddhist artwork, including statues, shrines, and murals. The paintings and statues tell stories from Buddha’s life.



Adams Peak

A biodiversity hotspot and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Adam’s peak offers a spectacular vantage point from which to watch breathtaking sunrises. This pointed mountain is situated in the middle of Sri Lanka and is especially well-known for Sri Pada … the footprints of Buddha. The 2,243-metre ascent is a common pilgrimage route in the Buddhist religion, as it is said there is an impression of Buddha’s own footprint near the summit.



Old Dutch Fort At Galle

South Coast of Sri Lanka. Galle city is full of charming Dutch-era villas, beautiful seaside views, nice little coffee shops, boutique hotels and stores. Galle’s Dutch Fort was built by the Portuguese and finished by the Dutch in the 17th century.

Kandy and the Temple of the Tooth

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy. One of Sri Lanka's most popular cultural attractions, it is home to a tooth belonging to Buddha. Between July and August, you can witness the spectacular Festival of the Tooth here, a vibrant religious procession with beautifully adorned elephants, drummers, fire eaters, energetic dancers, and stilt walkers.
